In 1997, the Tangent, a zine of politics and the arts was conceived over a few Rainier Pounders at Dot's Cafe in Portland, Oregon. Max Boykoff suggested naming the zine after a tangent, so it could spin off in myriad directions.

This accidental run of readings ends this Thursday, 4 PM at Portland State University. What you do is, you make your way to Portland, find Cramer Hall 117 (the University Studies Office) and ask the bookworm/bon vivant at the front desk where to turn to find three of my favorite poets & Pacific Northwesterners: Joel Bettridge, Tom Fisher & Kaia Sand. May you somehow find us....
