Pacific Coast Restaurants Inc., which operates some of Portland's best-known eateries, is being sold to Seattle-based Restaurants Unlimited Inc.Thanks to Angelhair at PortlandFood.org.
....
Portland-based Pacific Coast operates 27 restaurants in Oregon, Washington and California, along with a Newport Bay franchise in Seattle.
Its holdings include the Portland City Grill in U.S. Bancorp Tower, Henry's 12th Street Tavern, Manzana Rotisseri Grill, Newport Seafood Grill, the Portland Steak & Chophouse, the Stanford's Restaurant and Bar chain and the Newport Bay Restaurant chain.
....
Restaurants Unlimited Inc. formed in 1969 in Seattle with the opening of The Red Baron, described as a steak and lobster house.
Today, it is a nationwide operation with a handful of concepts. Its restaurants operate under the names Simon & Seafort's, Palomino, Kincaid's, Clinkerdagger, Stanley & Seafort's, and Maggie Bluff's.

We entered the bar area and found plenty of seating. We thought maybe this was normal until we spoke to the General Manager 'Amy' who explained that it was rarely as it seemed and that the lack of patrons probably stemmed from the fact that many people were on vacation, etc.
NOTE: (I don't know if there was smoking, but I did not notice any smoking or ashtrays.)
Now the stuff you want to know. The happy hour menu is extensive! A great number and variety of mouthwatering seafood dishes! Our waiter, Jerry was knowledgeable and friendly. My friend ordered the Alaskan Cod Fish & Chips at ($2.95). There was 3 pieces of fish and a small amount of fries. However, my friend told me that they were excellent and well worth the cost!
I however, splurged and ordered the Clam Chowder, ($1.95) the New Orleans Style Prawns, ($3.95) and Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo at ($2.95). The prawns at $3.95 are the most expensive menu item! (I mean that in a good way.) The clam chowder was a little thin for my liking but had nice clams and it was actually a bowl, not a cup, a great deal for clam chowder! My prawns came in a dish of delicious cream like, tomato basil sauce, that had a little kick. There were 5 prawns only, but they were fresh and I ask for a spoon rather then send the cream sauce away. Yum. ...
