Multnomah County Commish Jeff Cogen sent out this kitschy, sweet holiday video. Its a bit lengthy at just over 8 minutes which is practically documentary-ish for a web video. But its a nice little reminder about some of the cool and important stuff that gets done around here. Enjoy.
Dec 19, 2008WWIRE from Willamette Week
Two amazing holiday videos landed in our inbox this week. First is a heartwarming message from Multnomah County Commissioner Jeff Cogen (with a sprinkling of shameless self-promotion). And then there's Willie Nelson as a wise man bringing ganja to Baby Jesus on the Stephen Colbert show. Enjoy.

Multnomah County Commissioner Jeff Cogen was optimistic at a November 19 meeting of the Kenton Neighborhood Association when he announced that the county is in the process of finalizing negotiations with a property owner and that Kenton’s new library will open its doors next winter. Cogen promised to have the library opened in his first term, which is now halfway complete.
Lease negotiations are currently in progress between the county and building owner Craig Osbeck for the site at 8226 N Denver Ave. Ideally, these will be finalized by Dec. 18, when the commissioner hopes to present the lease to council for county approval. The space is 5,000 sq. ft. now, with an additional 1,000 sq. ft. to be freed up in the
design process.
