BunsOfGlory brings us back to Portland:
Got a milkshake (strawberry is the choice of milkshake champions) and a "Base Camp Burger" at the Elmer's Restaurant located at the Strip-Mall 205 / Gateway fringe area. Despite the oval-like bun shape (AND two toothpicks in there), I thought it was pretty tasty. Came with Elmer's "secret sauce" (that sounds gross) which is a hybrid of thousand island / mayonnaise.
Put a 'lil ketchup on the "Base Camp Burger" and you have yourself a pretty darn good hamburger.

A worker arrived at the restaurant around 5:30 a.m. and found a manager tied up inside.

Portland detectives are investigating the Tuesday night robbery at the Elmer's Restaurant at Northeast 82nd and Wasco Street.
Early morning employees at the restaurant discovered one of their coworkers had spent the night in the establishment. Police would not confirm reports that the employee had been bound and left there for the night. The employee, a woman, was not injured, police said.
Police would not say how many suspects they are looking for this morning.
I caught the "late" bus with a couple of minutes to spare. Seems I have been running a tad late these days.
A woman was sitting on the bench and asked me if I was someone else and I told her "no". She spoke in a loud voice. She asked if I were waiting on the bus. I said "yes" and she said she was too and it was almost time for the bus to come. I agreed and she asked if I were from the south. I said "yes" and she asked where. I told her Arkansas. She said she was from the midwest-Nebraska. I asked her what she was doing here and she laughed and asked "what are you doing here"? (It made me pause for a moment. I thought, "What an interesting question".)
I told her "working" and she asked where (very inquisitive). I said Chinatown at a non-profit. She then asked if I worked at the job place and I said "yes". She said one of my co-workers was her counselor and asked if I knew her and I said "yes".
Oh yeah, while sitting on the bus bench before the bus came she told me her pants and purse were getting wet on the bottom. She said she didn't feel like standing the whole time waiting on the bus. She stated they would dry out, then asked for my affirmation of that. I agreed with her that they would indeed dry out at some point. She seemed pleased with my answer.
