So the International Brewfest this past weekend was again a great success. I have a feeling they may soon outgrow that location if the popularity continues to increase the way it seems to. I discovered a new favorite style of beer though - something I'd seen in bottles at John's Market or Belmont Station, but [...]

Look for 22-oz. bottles at Belmont Station, 4500 S.E. Stark St. and at John's Market in Multnomah Village. Oregon Trail Bourbon Barrel Porter is as big as the West, masterfully brewed in the true pioneer spirit. This robust porter is...

So here's the skinny. Belmont Station got in 25 cases of Abyss this morning, but are already down five or so (12:41 pm). So there are 240 bottles left as I write this, and I wouldn't expect them to last through the weekend, or, honestly, through closing tomorrow. I'll call around and see where else they may have landed.

Go forth, and secure your three bottles!

[Update (12:45 pm): John's Market got some in as well, though they refused to divulge how much. The guy I spoke to speculated that it was enough to last until I got off work, if that tells you anything. They're at: 3535 Multinomah Blvd., Portland. (503) 244-2617]

So my Randy and I decided we ought to go check out John's Market out on Multnomah in south west Portland.  I did a quick Google Transit itenerary request a few days ago and knew that #44 would take us to within 1 block of the place.  While putzing about downtown we where a bit hungry and with that walked down to 3rd to board whatever bus came along first.  To our surprise there was #44. We both jumped on board and off we went to the John's Market Beer Emporium.  After a short...(read more)

I meant to make some notes on this beer when drinking it with my friend DS. Didn't happen. Just let it be know that this beer was pretty damn amazing. Sour, tart, complex. This bottling was finished with a cork, then a cap, in a 375 ml bottle. Totally worth tracking down. I got my bottle at John's Market. Clearly the image above (from the Brewery's site) has a different vintage than the bottle I consumed.

Nino Marchetti:

Watching my RSS feeds as I work during the day often brings me news to write about for clients. It also brings me considerable distractions - like the fact I'll be wandering Portland today picking up some big beers which have surfaced in 22 ounce bottles. Check these babies out:

Jan 29, 2007The Multnomah Villager
No, this isn't a rant about renters, in fact we're kind of feeling sorry for them at this moment. Of course, that assumes that there are any renters LEFT in the Village and environs. We hear from Mrs. V's friend down at John's Market that the Multnomah Village Townhouses are going condo. That's the funky [...]
