Apparently you can't stop CondimentSpreader from eating all the hamburgers in Sellwood.

Right at the intersection of Milwaukie Ave. and Bybee in Sellwood, you'll find the Oaks Bottom Public House.

Not really a pub, but more of a grill with a ton of local beers. Their menu offers six burger options,(basic, with cheese, bacon) and then a few gourmet twists. Having had tried their Jalapeno burger previously, and being pretty happy with it, this time around i stepped to the 1/2 pound chevre burg.

I wasn't given the option of how I wanted it cooked, and I would have enjoyed it a bit rarer, but the sheer amount of amazing chevre cheese piled high really negated any other areas I could find fault. It was a pretty damn fine sando. Recommended.

Also of note was the option to accompany any burger with what I found to be the best tots i've tasted in a long time.

PS: Try some of the Ninkasi brews from eugene.

The HH food selection isn't huge (it's the three items listed in the above description), but they're all really tasty (in descending order of yummy-ness: tots, snausage, pita-za). The drink special only applies to Lompoc beers, but they're damn good, so I have no problem with that. Get there on the early side and seating shouldn't be a problem, but I hear it gets pretty crowded later on. -- by hossboss85

Ninkasi Brewing has released more great beers in Portland. Look for Ninkasi's latest release of Oatis Stout Seasonal around town. You should be able to find it at the Green Dragon Bistro and BrewPub; Oaks Bottom Public House in Westmoreland; Kay's; Laughing Planet in Woodstock; and the Sky Box on cask in Sellwood. It is one of their all time favorites and now that "Believer" is a permanent beer in their line-up, we get Oatis as a new seasonal.

PORTLAND, Ore - Oct. 31, 2007 - The results are in, and the Morrison Hotel serves up the best New England-style clam chowder in Portland. The recently opened bar, located at 719 SE Morrison, won the coveted People's Choice Chowder Cup at the second annual Chowder Challenge. The blind tasting competition took place on October 27 at the Fifth Quadrant in North Portland. The Morrison Hotel also swept all three of the judge's categories, winning Best with Beer, Most Authentic and Most Flavorful. Rogue Ales Public House came in a close second by one vote for the People's Choice award. The New Old Lompoc, last year's reigning champion, came in third. Other participants included Oaks Bottom Public House, Horse Brass Pub, Concordia Ale House, Fifth Quadrant, Hedge House, Alameda Brewhouse, Lucky Labrador Beer Hall, and Harry's Fresh Foods. The family-friendly event was a fundraiser for Locks of Love.
