LaurelThirst Public House

The LaurelThirst Public House has been part of the Kearns Neighborhood in Portland Oregon since 1988. Since its opening, The LaurelThirst has strived to provide a great place for people to gather and eat good and reasonably priced food, choose from a large selection of micro-brews and wines (many of them local) and a place to hear the best local music that Portland has to offer in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The LaurelThirst has been lucky enough to foster a community of exceptional and diverse people that includes its staff, musicians, neighbors and customers. It is a community that we are constantly thankful for.

Date: January 3, 2008 Times Visited: 3 Move over Beaterville - I love your jam, but you don't offer me pancakes - my breakfast meal of choice. Laurelthirst Public House has taken my number one favorite weekday breakfast spot. Laurelthirst is a quiet breakfast joint on the weekdays, bustling brunch spot on the weekends (like every other [...]

Last breakfast in Portland

The folks at Food Fight! grocery say that the LaurelThirst Public House has "Portland's best breakfast". It was mighty fine. And they were playing CCR while we ate, which was pretty cool.

Afterwards, we just may have sped over to Sweetpea, for a cupcake for the road.

Quadburger and I stopped by the Laurelthirst Public House on Glisan for two of their sin verggie burgers, which are a homemade patty made out of sunflower seed, walnuts, and some other stuff with bacon, swiss, and cheddar on top with the usual lettuce, tomato and onions on onion roll.

Apr 18, 2008Damn Portlanders
Holy shit. It's been about 4-5 weeks since the last one. It's amazing how time flies by rather quickly when life is consumed by work and copious amounts of The Sims 2! Speaking of which, does anyone know of a Portland-specific mod/patch for the game that replaces meat entrees that Sims can cook (i.e. pork chops, hamburgers, turkey, Lobster Thermidor, etc.) with vegan equivalents (i.e. hummus, rice and bean plate, veggie burgers, Tofurky, etc.)? Bonus points if they are free. *drinks*

The long-overdue list:

1. Exemplary service at the independently-owned Framing Resource shop in the LoSt neighborhood: Not only were they helpful in finding a suitable frame for an 8 x 10 photograph, but they threw in free mounting screws and wire. I doubt that I would see that level of service at big-box retailers.

2. Living next door to Buckman Elementary School--where nice-looking hipsters and artist types send their kids to!

3. Tasty vegan breakfast menu options at the Laurelthirst Public House. The French toast was yum-eaux.
