Beginning Tuesday, January 12th TriMet will begin training bus operators on the Portland Mall in downtown. That means changes on the Mall for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.
Most importantly - Everyone needs to look out for buses! We've become accustomed to the absence of buses on 5th and 6th, but next Tuesday all that will change.
In some areas of the Mall, automobile parking will be removed, buses will be in the middle transit lane, and bicyclists and motorists will share the far left travel lane.
Right turns are not allowed.

What's free on New Year's Eve?
Free TriMet Service
All TriMet service will be free on New Year's Eve after 8:00 pm. Buses, the Streetcar and the Red MAX line will run on regular schedules. Yellow and Blue MAX lines will have special late-night service. For schedules and details, check the TriMet website.
