TriMet

TriMet provides public transportation in the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area, including most of Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties. It's easy to get around on TriMet, using our network of buses, MAX Light Rail, Portland Streetcar and LIFT Paratransit Service. MAX and many of TriMet's most popular bus lines run every 15 minutes or better throughout the day. You can ride for free within TriMet's fare-free zone, which includes most of Portland City Center and the Lloyd District. Plus, all TriMet service is accessible to people with disabilities. We welcome you aboard!

Beginning Tuesday, January 12th TriMet will begin training bus operators on the Portland Mall in downtown.  That means changes on the Mall for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Most importantly - Everyone needs to look out for buses!  We've become accustomed to the absence of buses on 5th and 6th, but next Tuesday all that will change.

In some areas of the Mall, automobile parking will be removed, buses will be in the middle transit lane, and bicyclists and motorists will share the far left travel lane.

Right turns are not allowed.

Here's what the new traffic pattern will look like once MAX operation begins:
