Next Adventure

PUBLISHER'S BLOG
Sad to get this. A very interesting business in a cool space with some very sweet people running it. I wish them all the best of luck in their next adventure.
Dear Loyal Customers:
Due to many negative economic factors, we are extremely saddened to announce that we will be closing our store Friday, October 10th. It has been such an incredible experience to have met so many wonderful people during our short business lifespan and have sincerely enjoyed the pleasure of helping each of you solve your dinner dilemmas and to have served all who have supported us. While supplies last, we will be selling all of our available frozen entrees & sides.
Please redeem any outstanding gift certificates as soon as possible.?Our hours will be noon - 6PM.
Thank you again for all your support and we wish you all the best!
Sincerely,
Kari & Chevella

the birthday goodness goes on and on! Elaine wanted to do a dinner at her house for my birthday. It got bumped back due to work craziness (hers not mine thankfully) so here it is almost 2 weeks after my birthday and I'm still being spoiled. I'm so excited to use my new backpacking sleeping bag this weekend! I got a book I've been wanting (The Daring Book for Girls) and gift certificates (more books! next adventure!) and a beautiful purse (made by Ms Gina herself) which remarkably matches the sleeping bag Elaine chose for me! woohooo!
It was Paul's birthday too (and Riley the dog) and Terry's 2 days before so it was one big celebration. 13 people for dinner. 4 different batches of chicken wings. 2 giant pans of homemade mac n cheese and 2 giant salads. delicious! my friends are so good, on so many levels!

Today's adventure takes us out to funky little Elk Rock Island, in the Willamette River down near Milwaukie. I don't do islands very much here, since I don't own a boat (not yet, anyway), but this one's a little different. You can walk to it, for one thing. Elk Rock Island is really only a part-time island, when the river level's high enough. The rest of the year it's sort of a peninsula, connected to the mainland by a stretch of weird undulating bedrock. But even then, it still kind of looks like an island.
