Event Description: Alexandre Poussin will join us to present Africa Trek, the incredible journey of husband and wife Alex and Sonia Poussin. For three years the French couple walked 8,700 miles across Africa, from the Cape of Good Hope to the Sea of Galilee. A runaway bestseller when first published in France in 2004, Africa Trek has only recently been translated into English and published by local Portland publisher Inkwater Press., The Poussin's epic journey has also been made into a twelve-part miniseries, currently being aired on PBS in over 200 markets across the United States.

The young Flyers are entertaining and awe-inspiring as always! The proceeds of this thrilling show will go towards funding student scholarships and subsidizing workshops with international faculty.

The Portland Bastille Day Committee, in conjunction with major sponsors Air France, US Bank, Hoyt Realty Group, Essilor, the Alliance Française and the French American International School, will host the Annual Bastille Day Festival at Jamison Square Park (in the Pearl District between NW 11th Ave, NW 12th Ave and NW Johnson St.) on Saturday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The annual festival - which is held in cities all around the world - celebrates the storming of the Bastille Prison on July 14, 1789.
