Memory? Perhaps it's still a tradition. There was (or is) a pond on campus. As graduation time came near, someone would post a sign that said, "Seniors, do not walk on the water!"

Memory! A neighbor fella stormed onto the campus, into the administration building and into a circle of president (Radmacher), theology (Cook) and language (Dunham). Seems he was very upset that on-campus students were washing their cars on Sunday. That offended him, and he could quote a verse to prove his indignation righteous. Duane Dunham asked if students, by washing their cars, had caused him to wash his. "Well, no." Would their behavior cause him to sin? "No." Then he must understand that their freedom to rest, be it at play with their cars, was not bound by his sense of law.

Memory! I loved the fact that Grant Howard took us in small groups into some of Portland's finest churches, and?bonus?into the home of its senior pastor for Sunday dinner, like that of Al Wollen, Cedar Mill Bible Church.

With mixed emotions, I have to announce the end of an era at KATU.
After 28 years in the KATU family, Ron Carlson, is embarking on a new adventure in life. Ron has accepted the position of Pastor to Men at Cedar Mill Bible Church. Ron told me today what lies ahead for him in life, and this is clearly a mission close to Ron's heart.

Ron's list of accomplishments at KATU is too long to list. Just think of all the events that Ron has covered over the years, and all the interesting people he has met. I worked with Ron for a much shorter period of time than most of you, but I was quickly impressed with Ron's writing, and the ease with which Ron speaks to people through the lens of a camera. He is a masterful storyteller and that talent will be missed.
