pdxstump

While attending Ignite Portland the other night, I was fortunate enough to meet a number of cool local techies, including Benjamin Foote. We traded online adventure stories. I bubbled about this website, and he explained his project, pdxstump.com. Here's a link if you don't want to cut and paste. (How lazy are we in this modern computerized age?)
PDXstump.com is a local search engine. I know, I know. What's so exciting about a search engine? Well, here are some reasons:
1) This one's local. The manager knows what Pix looks like. You can't say that for Google.
2) The layout is sweet. And it's a fabulous resource for wasting more time on the internet. Curious about the news in Chinatown? Just click on the link. Voila!
3) The marketing is clever but not fake. ("PDX Stump: Portland Chopped Down." )
I hope the existence of this website won't stop you from visiting mine. Really, we service different needs. And in our day of information overload, it's best to have options. Many excellent, local options.
