Can a family with small children live in the Pearl?

Sure. Although that answer sometimes meets with skepticism when actually given outside of an urban setting. I live in the Pearl District with my wife and 2 young children. We recently went out into the suburbs and looked at a house, when the realtor asked, "where do you currently live?" I answered knowing the reaction I'd probably get. This is why when asked to write an article I decided to write about why young families are starting to move to the Pearl and how, I think, this lost demographic will continue to grow in our neighborhood as time passes.
