Yoshida's Sand in the City is going strong at Pioneer Courthouse Square.
There's a huge pile of sand for climbing, spaces for kids to build their own small creations, and of course HUGE sand sculptures from the pros. Worth checking out, and preparing to vacuum off the kids before they come back indoors.
Today is the second of three days.
The event Sand in the City had Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square looking more like the Oregon Coast.

Yoshida's Sand in the City defines Portland culture and is one of the Pacific Northwest's premiere sand sculpture competitions. Proceeds raised from this event will go to Kids on the Block, an organization that sends specially-trained volunteer puppeteers to deliver more than 500 presentations a year to more than 70,000 children at 155 public and private elementary schools throughout Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties. Families will enjoy a day featuring puppets, food, entertainment, music and more.
