Reid Beels:

My friend Larry is usually wrong. On all sorts of things. But he's right on one thing: He roots for the Denver Nuggets, and man, they have a kick-ass logo. And this one gets a little complicated as, I could a rat's turd less if the Nuggets win, lose, or get sold off. But that is changing with the discovery of their new logo update. If cornered, I'd put my money on the Trailblazers here in town, or on those Pistons back in Detroit, due to my Southeastern Michigan beginnings and nothing more. "It's been that way for a while, dude," is what Larry had to say, shaking his head. The mountains above are the best part of the logo, so that's what we've got going on above on this fuckoffable Sunday night. Nothing more to say about this one....

Don't know what the image above is from, but it falls into the categories: "Another beauty shared with us by Mr. Baker out there in New York City." and "Don't know what it is, but sure do like it." Each morning I show up to the shop and can't wait to see what he's been digging up....

Man, look at that ruck sack. Man. Best thing I've seen all week. And see that type? That type is stenciled on said bag with a stencil from my Ideal Stencil Machine. So awesome to see it on some burly cloth. Here's a shot from back in the day advertising the machine I scored. Andy Beach. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by way of Detroit and Minneapolis. I met him at MCAD, when he swooped in on our type class and blew us away. One time, I passed through Philly and we met up and had a cheesesteak sandwich together. How about that? True story. But that's just the start of this post. Andy's Reference Library, and other amazing things, has been up to some great stuff as always. He's got a Mini-Exhibition going on at Kiosk in big city New York. Goes from Nov.28th-Dec. 7th. If you live there, you should check it out. If you are like me, landlocked in a city far from there, you can vicariously enjoy the proceedings at the link supplied right here. Get a load of these shots from his "Mini-Exhib": 01 | 02 | 03 | 04 | 05 | 06 | 07 | 08 Brilliant. Best thing I've seen in a long, long time. Thank heavens for Andy Beach. - - - - FOR THE WORKERS: And check this workwear link. Man. Wow. Some items for you check out from the incredibly jaw-dropping Workers site. Wow. From Japan of all places. Hot damn. - - - - LINK OF THE WEEK: Right fucking here. I am now the proud downloader of each and every one of those buttons. Man. - - - - IT JUST DOESN'T STOP: Exactly. What. I. Have. Been. Looking. For. I have the canvas version, and yes, I've heard "it's a F...

MORE COLOR, MORE COLOR: I know I've seen the image above around the web, and on the cool design sites, and all that. But it showed up in my inbox this morning from Mr. Baker in NYC, and I had to post it. So good. - - - - ON THE PLAYER TODAY: Even If And Especially When by the Screaming Trees. Like all Midwesterners landlocked in Northern Michigan in the early '90s, cool bands took their time getting onto our radar. I didn't know a thing about them until they were hot shit on a national level, with their Sweet Oblivion mega release. I'll tell you this much: I went to Ellensburg, Washington simply because they were from there. Plus, I dug the Conner brothers as they we fellow "men of size." Plus sizes. Gift of girth. Northwestern behemoths. BIG MEN ROCKERS: 01. D Boon. 02. Tad. 03. Brothers Gary Lee and Van Conner. 04. Pig fuckin' Champion of Poison Idea. R.I.P., man. 05. Meat Loaf (back in the day) 05. Tenacious D 06. The brothers from the Adolescents, 07. Frank Black. 08. And this guy, from Bowling For Soup. 09. John Popper before surgical surgeries. - - - - HOLI-DAZE ACTION OVER AT COUDAL.COM: Go watch Michele talk about Field Notes, and the "stocking stuffer" sale going down. Good deal. Lots of graph paper. Give them out to bad elves. For the whole family. - - - - HONEY BUCKET, MY SWEET NUGGET, HERE'S A "GIFT IDEA" FOR YOU: Deck the halls. - - - - VIA ATLANTA: Chunklet Henry makes a rock poster and I am showing it to you. We dig. - - - - SO LONG: A cute, little, long dachsund button set. Maybe a little too cute for a hard-ass...
