Staying in town for the 4th? Gallery7126 is a new gallery located just outside the Pearl District on 16th, and is featuring 2 artists this month.
Madeline Meza Janovec is known locally for her rigorous work to promote the arts in Portland. She's very active in the Oregon Women's Caucus for Art, and has arranged several visits to Korea and China for Oregon women artists--where her work has been warmly received with enthusiastic purchases. Madeline got her start in the early 70s designing jewelry, and expanded from there. Her body of work includes abstract and representational works on paper, canvas, wood, and metal. Her work is vibrant and permeated with the feel of having had a long life filled with the passion for art. Though her body of work is vast, this show will be focusing on mono-type wood block prints in water-based oils.
