Portland Beer
DA Beers dissents. He thought the Deschutes disappointed. But more, he was disappointed that the drinker/beer ratio was wrong--the most common complaint we heard. I also like this:
I'm an introvert and don't like crowds, I show up opening day to festivals so my agoraphobic tendencies don't get the best of me...Amen, brother. Portland beer bloggers: Sox fans, introverts.

Hello, great readers of Guest on Tap. This is Angelo, local Portland beer writer. I would first like to apologize for not putting a post up here in sometime. I have been jumping headlong into my very own website, BREWPUBLIC. As a contributor to Guest on Tap, David Dronkowsi's noble work, I have had the opportunity to put my thoughts on beer and have you read them. I can't thank Dave enough for all that he has done for me. I still plan on poking my head in here and adding a post now and then, but if you are interested in checking out my writing in a larger capacity, please visit http://Brewpublic.com I hope you will like what you read there. Currently there are reviews of new breweries, brewpubs, and some humorous rants. I guess, this post is to inform you that I have this new site and promote it. Thanks for your time and readership. If you have a desire to post here, please contact Dave@guestontap.com If you would like to shoot press, comments, or hate mail my way, you may do so at angelo at brewpublic dot com. Prost!

Biography: By day, I currently work as the Communications & Learning Associate at Meyer Memorial Trust which means I get to blog about new media for nonprofits and help support the nonprofit technology field while also supporting the Trust's work and internal education. By night, I blog on nptech issues and renewable energy issues, play with a puppy, and bike around on adventures with my husband. In previous lives I have worked in nonprofits like the Chalkboard Project and been a consultant on web design and np tech. Every day, though, I have celiac disease.
Description: Think about eating a sandwich. Now, think about which bread you put on that sandwich. Think of what it tastes like and the consistency and the color - everything. Now, imagine what it would be like to forget all of those things. That's me. Celiac Disease is incredibly common - effecting 1/-160 people in America - and it means you can't have the bread you are probably thinking about. Or your wonderful Portland beer. No grain. No wheat, rye, spelt, etc. But, it really isn't all that bad. I'll tell you what it is, more than just the sandwich thing. And I'll tell you how you can still find and make a tremendous amount of tasty foods without all those grains.

Wiki Wednesday is the first Wednesday every month at the AboutUS.org office and this month they are featuring the Portland Beer Wiki. The Oregon Brewers Guild will be in attendance providing the beverages. Learn about the project, drink beer and meet the inventor of the wiki, Ward Cunningham (he likes good beer too). The point of the project is to create a hub for everything Portland and using a wiki is an easy way to accomplish this. If you don't know how to use a wiki we can help. And check out the Portland Beer Wiki!
